My Thyroid Debacle Review
Drs. Balcavage and Halderman put clear, easy-to-read words and research-backed explanations to the current "Debacle" of thyroid treatment. They explain why testing TSH only (or TSH + fT4 only), and treating with thyroid medication ONLY (without addressing other diet, lifestyle, and root cause factors) leaves so many of us not just feeling lousy, but in some cases, absolutely debilitated. Best of all, they lay out a solution for what we can do about it to reclaim our health.
Based on extensive research, work with patients, as well as personal experience with thyroid issues, they approach thyroid disorders from a new perspective, pointing out that what's really going on underneath the surface is an issue with the functioning of cells, not a problem with the thyroid gland itself.
They argue that the key is to look at root causes, and a whole-life approach, rather than attempting to mask symptoms with pills. This book is an absolute game changer and will change your understanding of hypothyroidism forever.
